How to explain technical work in a data interview
Show the thinking behind your projects without losing your interviewer in implementation detail.

Start with the question you needed to answer
Before describing a model or pipeline, explain the business problem and who needed the answer. Give enough context to understand the constraints, then describe your contribution separately from the wider team’s work.
Explain your trade-offs
Strong project stories include decisions, not just steps. Explain why you chose an approach, what alternatives you considered and how you checked the result. Be honest about limitations.
Prepare three project stories at different levels of detail. Practise a short overview, then add technical depth when asked. Finish with what changed and what you learned.
