Choose a smaller, stronger target list

More applications do not always mean a better search. Start with roles that match your strengths and organisations where your experience is relevant. Record what each team needs and how your work could help.

Create conversations, not just submissions

Reach out to former colleagues and people working in your target teams. Ask a specific question about the role. Aim to understand the context rather than requesting a referral from someone who does not know your work.

Review your search weekly. If applications receive few responses, revisit your positioning. If interviews do not progress, review your examples. Use the evidence to decide what to change.
